Taiwo Akinlami is a Public Interest and Social Development Legal Practitioner; Securing A Friendly and Protective Environment for Children® System’s Approach Content and Intellectual Property Owner and ETHICIST, Nigeria and arguably Africa’s Doyen of the field of Child Safeguarding and Protection and Family Strengthening including Rights-Based Approach Parenting as a foremost Subject Matter, focusing on Belief System, Ethical Standards, System/Policy Development, Deployment and Dissemination, Parenting and Total Family Life Management Expert.
He sees the law as an instrument of social change and engineering, insisting that the law is the foundation of the civil society and rules all things.
He is Child Safeguarding and Protection Monitoring and Evaluation Expert and Contents and Curriculum Developer and Consultant to UNICEF, the British Council, European Union-Funded and British Council-Managed Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC), UNFPA, SOS Children’s Village International, USAID, Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency of the Ministry of Justice, Lagos State, Lagos State Government Ministry of Education, Office of Quality Assurance, Lagos State Government Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Global Rights, Teach4Nigeria (among others), working with over 250 leading national and international organizations, spread across different sectors of the Nigerian economy and social interests, reaching conservatively over 10(ten) million primary and secondary caregivers/parents, children, and youth through his over 60(sixty) registered products, books and services and leading consistent media campaign, appearances in major print and electronic media and making informed and highly-sought-after contributions to critical issues nationally and internationally in the field of Child Safeguarding and Protection and Family Strengthening, since 1988, when his name appeared in print for the first time, protesting the violation of our human rights as a family by a military man.
Akinlami is a Social Empowerment and Advancement (SEA) Campaigner, touching on subject matters like citizenship, constitutional and human rights, law and enterprenuership, known as Lawrprenuership, a subject matter under, which he wrote a minimum of 260 articles in a syndicated column, published in leading African amd national dalies like BusinessDay, The Sun and Daily Independent newspapers. He is a School Leadership, Teacher and Core Skill & Competences Trainer for the British Council, Active Participant in Volunteering Engagements with local and international organizations, including being Special Court Appointed Advocate for Children, United States of America, Mandated Reporter of the Franklin County Children Services, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.
His project, Securing A Friendly and Protective Environment for Children® and Family Strengthening Project was recognized and showcased by Facebook and Google at the EMEA Child Safety Summit 2017 and reached African countries like Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, to mention a few. Akinlami single-handedly pioneered a new phase in his field, creating a business model, invented new contents, created defining and cutting-edge products, innovated unique platforms of expression for his works and others, created mentorship programs and opportunities for budding and established practitioners and created tool for determining standards in the field.
His Social Advocacy and Empowerment and Family Strengthening efforts in the last 23 years has brought to the front burner of the conscience and consciousness of individuals, private and public institutions in Nigeria and arguably Africa, the PROTECTION, RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITIES of the child and the family for due respect IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD, leading to the promulgation of the Child Rights Act, 2003, Safeguarding and Protection Policy of Lagos State Government and other landmark accomplishments.
Akinlami is married to his adorable and supportive wife, Oluwafunmilayo and the family is blessed with Tieriayooluwa, a precious son.
